Short answer: no — nothing in how the game is presented points to yuri. The official Steam page describes Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME as a 15-day psychological horror adventure in which you, as a viewer, intervene in streamer Tsumimi's livestreams through comments, Mega Chats and gifts to uncover what happened to her missing partner, Mashiro. The two women at the centre of the story are introduced as the idol unit Wataame Chainsaw, and the bond the page sells is partner-in-performance plus a disappearance case — not a couple.

What the store page actually promises

The pitch is deduction under pressure: investigate by day, intervene in the stream by night, connect fragments in an investigation file, and let your choices shape later events and the ending. Multiple endings are confirmed, and the page notes that reaching them may mean replaying scenes shared across routes. Kikuo's involvement in the music is the detail demo players single out most, and the original announcement described the soundtrack as brand-new material written for the game.

The content advisory is the clearest signal about tone: psychological horror, depictions of violence and blood, references to self-harm and suicide, and — explicitly — no explicit sexual content. On genre, the Steam page lists Adventure and Indie, and as of 2026-10-17 the page does not list a romance or yuri tag.

Where the question comes from

Two female leads, an idol duo, and a streamer chasing the attention of the partner who vanished is exactly the setup that gets read as romantic. Tsumimi is described as streaming in the hope of becoming famous enough for Mashiro to find her, which fans reasonably read as devotion. Whether that devotion is romantic, professional, or something the story deliberately leaves unresolved is not something the store page answers.

What demo players argued about instead

In a June 2026 Steam General thread on the demo, the conversation that actually happened was about the mystery, not romance. The original poster praised the English localization, the art, character designs and music, found the mechanics intuitive despite a thin tutorial, and criticised the livestream chat's timing as feeling phony and the UI as cluttered — demo-era impressions from a build the posters do not identify. From there the thread turned to theorising: whether the game is supernatural at all, what happened to Mashiro, who the man following Tsumimi is, whether the whole disappearance is a marketing stunt, and what kind of act Wataame Chainsaw performs. One poster's reading — that Tsumimi is the idol with the chainsaw and Mashiro the one being chased — became the thread's most-quoted idea, and another offered a translation of the wall text from the second stream as a form of the verb "to watch", left open as to who is doing the watching. None of it treats the pair as a couple.

If you are buying for romance

  • The page sells horror-mystery, investigation and deduction. If a confirmed romance route is the thing you need, the store page does not offer one as of 2026-10-17.
  • Playtime figures are estimates and have moved: the original announcement put a run at around three hours and a full multiple-ending playthrough at four to five, while the Steam page now lists roughly four hours for a first playthrough and eight to nine for multiple endings.
  • As of 2026-10-17 the Steam page shows no user reviews, so there is no post-release word on how the Tsumimi–Mashiro relationship resolves. The page gives October 22, 2026 as the release date, so waiting for reviews costs little if the answer decides your purchase.
  • Demo saves do not carry into the full game, per the page's own notes — worth knowing if you played the demo and expect to keep your progress.
